GARNiDELiA is an anagram of Le Palais Garnier de Maria, which means “Maria’s Opera House, her place to sing” and Cordelia, which is the name of the asteroid discovered in toku’s birth year.
A music project from toku, a successful music composer who wrote hit songs for Angela Aki, LiSA, and AnCafe; and MARiA, a singer who sang many anime theme songs and has performed with several musicians such as JIN as guest vocalist. They met in 2010 and formed GARNiDELiA together.
The videos MARiA shared on local video site recorded more than 2 millions views and her voice has attracted a lot of people. MARiA also has talents in dance, with her first dance video, “Girls,” recording more than 1 million views.
toku’s representative song, “SPICA,” has recorded 1 million views and the total views of all his videos exceeds 10 million. His collaborative song with MARiA, “COLOR,” was chosen to be the theme for the animation “Freezing”.
They released their first major debut single, “ambiguous,” in March 2014, which was chosen as the opening song of the popular TV animation “Kill La Kill”. The single immediately reached the first place on iTunes store and most of the local downloading services.
In April, MARiA participated in the opening song of the TV animation, “Mekakucity Actors”. Three months later, they were chosen to sing the opening song for the TV animation, “the irregular at magic high school”. Their second single, “grilletto,” was released.
Finally, in October, they released their third single, “Blazing,” which is the opening song of the TV animation, “Gundam Reconguista in G”.
They attracted a lot of attention in 2014, by performing for 4 popular TV animation titles. The release of their first album in January 21st 2015 has just been announced!

SCANDAL was formed in August, 2006 with four high school girls who went to the same vocal & dance school in Osaka, Japan. They started performing as SCANDAL with aggressive sounds and pop characters.
In March 2008, they were invited to the Japanese culture convention, Sakura-Con, in Seattle and they went to six cities in the U.S to see over 7,000 of their fans. In July 2008, they brought 10,000 people to Japan Expo in France and 8,000 to Anime Comic Fest in Hong Kong in August.
On October 21st, they released their first album “BEST★SCANDAL” and ranked 5th on Oricon chart in their first week of the release. It was the first time in seven and a half years for the girl band’s album to be awarded with 5th in their first week of the release.
In 2009, they were awarded the New Face Award from Japan Record Award. – New Artist Their 7th single “Shunkan Sentimental” a tie-in song with the smash-hit animation series “FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST”, has again scored high on the charts. #7 on ORICON and #4 on the Reco-choku full (full track download) chart.
They released their 2nd album “TEMPTATION BOX” in August 2010, and this was awarded 3rd place on Oricon daily chart. In October, “Scandal nanka Buttobase” was released, and awarded 3rd place on Oricon weekly chart, the highest ranking on Oricon weekly in their history ever.
In April 2011, single “HARUKA” was released and it also ranked #3. In August 2011, their 3rd original album “BABY ACTION” was released, followed by “VIDEO ACTION”, 1st video clip collection DVD.
They also went on an Asian tour, their first tour outside Japan, and gathered 2,500 audiences from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In March 28 2012, SCANDAL held a concert in Nippon Budokan, one of the high status venues in Japan.
They have recently announced their SCANDAL WORLD TOUR 2015 “HELLO WORLD” for next year and will be performing in 5 countries including U.S., U.K, France, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Born 12 May 1965 in Hiroshima, Okuda is one of the top selling artists in Japan- a singer, songwriter and producer. After the band Unicorn disbanded, he kicked off his solo career, and in 1994, in full swing with the single, ‘Ai no Tame ni’. His first solo album,‘29’ sold millions. Ever since, he’s written and produced many artists such as PUFFY AMIYUMI, Kaela Kimura and collaborated with Yosui Inoue. In 2009, Unicorn got together again and they are even more active now.
Okuda’s music style varies from acoustic performance in his hometown baseball stadium, and in Miyajima/Itsukushima Shrine to recording and touring as a member of The Verbs with worldwide musicians, such as Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino. In March 2010, he started a tour, which he named “Okuda Tamio Extremely Ingenious Hitori Cantabile” where he tours by himself recording on stage. He is a true musicians’ musician.
