It’s that time of year again when Van’s Warped Tour cuts a path through the country bringing with it some of the hottest bands out there. Forty two dates, seven stages and more bands than I can even count bring a mix of punk, rock and just plain fun to a sweltering summer day. This year’s lineup included Nagoya’s hard-rock heroes, coldrain. I had a chance to chat about fans, culture and, of course, music with their front-man and total charmer, Masato, before their show in San Antonio. Read more below the cut.
NIGHTMARE has announced they will go on a short hiatus following the end of 2016. According to their official statement, they are anticipating their upcoming 20th anniversary and feel the break is necessary for the band to be its best condition to continue forward. As you may know, vocalist Yomi suffers from functional dysphonia and has been seeking treatment since February of this year. There are no dates yet associated with the hiatus, but it is still a ways off, so make sure to give the group your support until then.

Terrifying news hit Twitter this weekend via Coldrain‘s official Twitter. It seems Coldrain was involved in a bus accident while driving through Texas on their way to Tulsa. Pictures are up and, as you can see, the accident looks brutal. Thankfully, all the members and staff came away safe and they plan to be back on the road as soon as possible, but needless to say, the show in Tulsa was canceled.
