We’ll start with some good news this week. As of August 29, AvelCain‘s support drummer, Byou, has become an official member. Not only that, the group will be releasing a new CD titled Himawari no Uta on October 14. This is a very limited pressing with only 500 copies, so get it quick.
Dead Children will also be rounding out their lineup with the addition of drummer, eight. He has been playing as support for the group since July. Check out the newly released Pv for Black Lily from their first mini-album, Haunted Vox that dropped just a couple of weeks ago on August 19.
It’s good news/bad news for fans of Fairytale. The group has announced the release of a live-limited single, Dolly ni Beni, at their live on September 7 at Ruido K4. The bad news is that same show also marks the departure of guitarists Taiga and Yuto. This coupled with the recent departure of bassist, Law, means the band will go on hiatus while they plot their next course of action.
Hard rockers LOKA announced just yesterday that Katsumi will be leaving the ranks as of their live at Shinjuku LOFT on September 28 due to personal circumstances. He states that LOKA will always be his brothers, but due to his personal situation, he has to step aside. You can find his official statement in both Japanese and English on their official Facebook page. They still have a few lives left together, so if you are in the area, make sure to show him your support.
A bit of scary news for mothercoat. Vocalist Tokirock was hospitalized after a fall off a second floor veranda at mothercoat HQ. The fall took place when she was trying to record a sample of birds outside her window and slipped. All scheduled lives have been canceled until further notice while they focus on Toki’s recovery and discuss the future of mothercoat. Follow them on Facebook for updates on her condition.
Heavy alt-rockers Girugamesh had fans excited this week with the announcement of a new album. No details have been released as of yet, just a broad release date of 2016. They have released a new artist photo to whet our appetites, though. Keep an eye on the homepage for updates.
And a New Band Alert that had me doing cartwheels. Former DEATHGAZE frontman, Ai, has announced he’s gone solo! Ai will be releasing a self-produced singled titled GLASS SKY on October 28. I don’t know about all of you, but I got chills hearing his voice again after a year of his absence. Check out the preview above and let me know what you think.
And that’s the Quickie. Rock on.
