The Weekly Quickie: Girugamesh, X-Japan, Acid Black Cherry, The Valentine, Yousei Teikoku, J-Summit New York
At their one man show earlier this week, Girugamesh announced the release of a new mini-album and tour for early next year. Titled, Nue-Chimera, the album drops January 20 in two types and, to sweeten the deal, it will also be available for purchase in Europe starting in February. The European edition will include the bonus track, Gravitation. The commemorative one-man tour starts January 24 at Tsutaya O-nest and will carry them through April. Check the OHP for venue details.
X-Japan have announced a live viewing event on an epic scale. They will be screening their upcoming live on December 15 at Nippongaishi Hall in theaters throughout Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The group decided to hold the live viewing event after tickets to their comeback tour sold out in record time. Find information on venues and ticketing here. Make sure to act fast!
Acid Black Cherry will be releasing a live CD of their performance at Yokohama Arena on October 29. 2015 arena tour L-Eru- LIVE CD will come on two CDs and include all songs played that night. They also have a live DVD in the works for their tour final at Nippon Budokan on December 14. The date of release for the DVD has not yet been revealed, but we will be sure to keep you posted.
Once again, we have more disbandments to announce starting with The Valentine. This short-lived group will call it quits on February 14 (go figure) after their final live at Ikebukuro BLACK HOLE.
On the convention front, AKON has announced the first of its musical guests, Yousei Teikoku. If you aren’t familiar with this female-fronted powerhouse, I highly suggest checking them out. AKON will be held June 3-5 at Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas and the fairy leader herself, Empress Yui, will be meeting fans during an autograph session and Q&A as well as the performance. Pre-registration has begun, so get your tickets now.
And, once again, J-Summit New York will be holding its benefit show raising funds for Tsunami and Earthquake relief. The show features performaces from Alan Merrill Band, The Big Apple Sunshine Band, Aine Hakamatsuka, Jade:, Lust, Megumi (Matsumoto), Naoki and many more all for the low price of $15. The show takes place December 6, so get your tickets now.
