The Weekly Quickie: LIV’ERT, UnRealistic, MEKAKUSHI, GUILD, X-Japan, Develop One’s Faculties, lynch.
Another round of bad news I’m afraid. LIV’ERT has announced their disbandment in February of next year. The decision comes after the loss of bassist Madara who will be retiring from music due to family reasons. The group has suffered too many lineup changes recently, making it difficult for them to work and so they have decided to throw in the towel. They have yet to set a final date, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
UnRealistic will also be disbanding early next year due to a round of lineup changes, most recently guitarist A.KI. The remaining members feel the band would not be the same with new members and so have decided to call it quits. Their final live will be held at Osaka MUST on January 13 and the release of what would have been their last single, “and I…” has been canceled.
In case that wasn’t enough, MEKAKUSHI have also announced their disbandment for early next year. The group will call it quits in February 2015 and their new single scheduled for November 25, Ito, will be their final release.
And it doesn’t end there. GUILD has announced they will go on hiatus starting in December, stating the ominous reason of disagreements between members. All scheduled shows will continue as planned and their final show will be December 3 at Umeda AKASO.
I’m sure you guys have seen this already, but in case you live under a rock, check out the newly released cover art for X-Japan‘s much anticipated new single, Born to be Free. The single is the first since their reunion and is scheduled for a November 6 release. The song will also be included on their full length album slated for March of next year. No further details as of yet, but we’ll be sure to stay on the lookout. X-Japan have also announced two additional dates for their reunion tour: December 1 in YOKOHAMA ARENA and December 15 in Nippongaishi Sports Plaza. General ticket sales start October 31.
Good and bad news (kinda) for fans of Develop One’s Faculties. Their first full album release, “reincarnation,” which is set to release October 28 is already SOLD OUT! The album is being released in limited quantities and the preorder quota has already been released, so if you haven’t ordered it….sorry. There is still a chance you may find it on shelves or at lives, but don’t expect to find it mail order. While news like this is always kind of a bummer for foreign fans, it makes me happy to see their music so eagerly sought after. If you get it, YOU LUCKY DUCK! Treasure it always!
Cool news for European lynch. fans. Thanks to your support, you will see lynch.’s newest album “D.A.R.K. -in the name of evil-” on shelves in record stores. The album released October 7. If you are a fan in Europe, be sure to hit your local record store and show them you want more by purchasing it locally. With your help, this could be just the beginning.
