The Weekly Quickie: Coldrain, NoGod, Sibilebashir, Re:MY BACTERIA HEAT ISLAND, DiO ~distraught overlord~, DEAD CHILDREN, AvelCain, XENON, The Thirteen

Kort AvelCain, coldrain, Dead Children, dio distraught overlord, NoGod, re:my bacteria heat island, Sibilebashir, the thirteen, Xenon 2016-03-21

coldrain busTerrifying news hit Twitter this weekend via Coldrain‘s official Twitter.  It seems Coldrain was involved in a bus accident while driving through Texas on their way to Tulsa.  Pictures are up and, as you can see, the accident looks brutal.  Thankfully, all the members and staff came away safe and they plan to be back on the road as soon as possible, but needless to say, the show in Tulsa was canceled.

We’ve got a very cool event announcement from our friends over at J-rock North Productions.  NoGod will be making TWO appearances in Canada:  the first on June 29 at The Mod Club in Toronto and the second at Otafest in Calgary, Alberta on July 2.  NoGod also have their first album in over a year, titled Renovate, dropping on March 30, so make sure to pick that up while you’re at it.

sibilebashir

One of the strangest bands in visual kei (seriously, this is possible the WEIRDEST live I’ve ever seen and that’s saying something), Sibilebashir have a new single coming out in April.  Honnou comes out April 13 in two types.  Quantities are limited and this band is crazy popular, so don’t hesitate to preorder if you have any hope of grabbing one of these.

Those waiting for the return of TenTen and Re:MY BACTERIA HEAT ISLAND, the wait is over!  His new single, Rabies, drops April 2.  He’s already got a PV and lyric videos up on their YouTube channel, so go check out their new sound and grab that record when it comes out!

You know this one had me screaming.  DiO ~distraught overlord~ have announced the release of a brand-spanking-new single, BYAKUYA NI MOYURU HANA, to commemorate their tenth anniversary.  Sadly for those of us in North America, the single will only be sold during their upcoming reunion tour.  They have a sample up on YouTube, though, and it sounds stupendous.  If any of our friends in Europe want to hook me up, I’d love you forever <3

dead children

And another one bites the dust with the disbandment of the short-lived group, Dead Children.  It seems the band had differing ideas on the musical direction the group should take and so have mutually decided to call it quits.  Their final live, DEAD CHILDREN PARTY ~the final curse~, will be held at Ruido K3 on June 29.

avel cain

As far as disbandments go, this one hits hard.  AvelCain have announced their dissolution following their live on July 27 at Nagoya DIAMOND HALL.  As a result, guitarist Kaede has decided to retire from music.  These guys are no strangers to difficulties with more than one lineup change in their three years together.  I’m sure we’ll see the remaining members again.

As if that wasn’t enough, XENON have also announced their dissolution on May 31 after their show at Osaka Muse.  No real reasoning was given in their statement, though it seems like after over six years together, it was just time to let it go.  They have a little ways to go, so make sure to give them your support.

New Band Alert! Remember that mysterious countdown retweeted by Aoi a couple of weeks ago?  Well, all has been revealed.  Sadie’s Mao and Mizuki have formed a new unit called The Thirteen.  They already have an album called Pandemic scheduled for release on May 25 and their first live will be held on June 24 at Akasaka BLITZ.  Check out the teaser for Chainsaw above.

And, that’s the Quickie!  Love you!
