The Weekly Quickie: Dir en grey, VAMPS, DuelJewel, Crossfaith, Black Gene for the Next Scene, RonoCro
Just announced, my personal favs, Dir en grey, have announced a short North American tour including dates in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The tour starts November 2 in Seattle, WA and runs through November 14 in Toronto, Canada. I don’t know about you, but I’m already pricing plane tickets. Keep an eye on the official webpage for details and ticketing information.
Speaking of cool tours, VAMPS are at it again with an appearance at Ozzfest Japan. The festival takes place November 21-22 at Makuhari Messe and tickets for both days will run you 29,000 yen. Overseas fans can purchase tickets here and tickets are currently on sale in Japan through e+, Lawson, and Ticket Pia.
Shocking news from visual kei veterans, DuelJewel. After a whopping 19 years in the business, the band has announced they will end their run after the final live of their 47 prefecture tour in February 2016. Vocalist Hayato has been suffering from a vocal chord condition for quite a few years now and, with no full recovery in sight, the group decided the best course of action is to call it quits. Keep an eye on their homepage for member comments and ticketing info.
Heavy metal rockers, Crossfaith, have announced the release of their new album, XENO. The album is set to drop September 16 and, if you preorder, you will receive an instant mp3 download of the title track. Check out the lyric video for XENO above and head over to the OHP to preorder.
Black Gene for the Next Scene has also released a teaser for their next single, Gyakumanji Yori, Ai wo Komete. The single is set to release September 9 in three types. The tracklist has not yet been released, but the visuals show a stark contrast from their previous, darker release, Uragaeri. They also have a one-man tour planned after the release, starting at Kanazawa AZ on September 12 with the tour final held at Tsutaya O-East on November 1.
Another new release for September, this one for RoNo☆Cro. Zettai Chouzetsu Only One is set to release September 16 in three types. No track list yet, but we do know the limited edition will come with two tracks and a dvd, while the other two editions will come with three tracks each.
And, that’s the Quickie. Hasta later.
